Oakville became an appellation in 1993, a narrow band running across the floor of Napa Valley between Yountville and Rutherford that takes in both bench and valley-floor soils. Turnbull's Black Label Red is a blended red from the 2021 vintage carrying that Oakville boundary on the front label.
