The Vigneto di Popoli lies in the upper Pescara valley, where Abruzzo's vineyards climb toward the Apennines rather than sloping down to the Adriatic. Montepulciano is the local red grape, unrelated to the Tuscan hill town that shares the name, and the wine falls under the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC. Valle Reale released the 2017 as a named-plot red.
