Vietti's 2024 Derthona is a varietal Timorasso from the Colli Tortonesi DOC, the hill country of southeastern Piedmont around Tortona — the town whose ancient Roman name gives this wine its title. Timorasso barely survived the twentieth century; replanting only gathered pace in the 1990s, and the grape is still found almost nowhere outside these hills.
