DESCRIPTION

Aromas and flavours of dark red currant and black cherry then a layer of dark roses and plums. The barrel spices and light, almost sweet oak scents layer in complexity as well as power. A layer of dry spice and dry stone mineral complexity deliver depth and breadth. On the palate - more of the same plus an abundance of tannins and acidity to provide structure, back bone and longetvity. On days 2 and 3 the wine develops further showing its proclivity for ageing over the next 15 years (if stored properly). Fantastic length and complexity, promise and intrigue.

Bright and fruity nose of red cherries, raspberries, currants, sweet licorice and dried flowers. It’s medium-bodied with bright acidity and very fine tannins. Fleshy and wild with fresh-herb character. From organically grown grapes. Drink now. Screw cap.

Wine Enthusiast: 92

Cedar smoke, tar, dried herbs, spices and florals open this rich, perfumed wine. They nicely complement the ripe red-currant and cherry-preserve aromas, creating an overall autumnal vibe. There's a lovely freshness to the juicy red fruit, aided by mouthwatering acidity, and tugged into place by spice-laden tannins. Those herbal, floral aromas go along for the ride. This medium-weight Pinot has a somewhat astringent finish that's drinking well now and will hold up until around 2028 or so.
