Malbec arrived in Argentina in 1853, when the French agronomist Michel Aimé Pouget brought cuttings to Mendoza, decades before phylloxera tore through the grape's original strongholds around Cahors. A century and a half of separate evolution means Argentine Malbec now works from its own vine material, and Zuccardi's 2024 Q Malbec descends from that adapted stock.
